How do I tap this?

Your users are not an archer. Make the tap area big enough for them

Small tap targets make it a little more difficult to be tapped especially when it has other tappable elements in its vicinity.
If your user has a shaky hand, then it will be even a lot more difficult for them.

The idea behind designing a smaller touch target comes from the low availability of digital real estate (the idea is false — it’s just a matter of priority).

Borders are used to visually define what space (tap area) the element has. Designers have opted to keep the tap area the same while not using the borders (to be minimalistic). You can do it too.

Touch area guidelines -
Apple and Android touch target size — (44 x 44px) and (48 x 48 dp). And each target needs to be separated by a minimum of 8dp/16px.

The are other frustrations you need to look into, like feedback after tap

Help your users make fewer errors
