add to cart button

Your users need to know “if” and “how many” quantities of a product are in their cart.

Users can forget if they added an item to the cart or not. They would go to the cart to check it.

We can reduce the interaction costs here and that’s what you, UX designer, will love to do, won’t you?
Placing a small script, telling them about the quantity of that particular item(being viewed) in the cart, does the thing.

Be nice to the users. Write a script keeping your user’s psychology is mind.
Using words like “already” or using words that give a feeling of excitement to the user is surely you would want to avoid.

Why avoid words like “already” or words that arouse excitement in users?
“Already” gives a feeling of guilt.
Take this example —
“You have already eaten 3 burgers” vs “You have eaten 3 burgers”
The former is exaggerating and the later gives a neutral feel.

You don’t know what your users are feeling when buying a product.

Be neutral and let their emotions work at your advantage

What do you say?
