What should you do with “read more” labels?

This label is used to display information to users, either by navigating them to a new page or expanding the article on the same page.

But which way do you choose to serve users with the information?

Navigating them to a new page.

The whole idea behind displaying the information on the same page is to reduce interaction costs, isn’t it?

Users will surely love to get the article at just one click and also they won’t have to wait for the new page to load.

But will they love it when they have to scroll all the way up just to minimize the article again?
All that because they are already overwhelmed with the information overdose that makes the page look messy.

It’s not how finely you put up graphics and text to not look messy but it is how much of variety information you are giving at a time

It’s a common psychology fact that you sometimes don’t deal with the same things again just because of the fear of not being able to do it again. *Sometimes

What do you say?
